AutoSEA2 LT
AutoSEA2 LT
Fast and easy assessment of broadband noise and vibration for analysis and design
AutoSEA2 LT is an easy-to-use, entry-level version of the well-established AutoSEA2 software, which, since its original release as "AutoSEA" in 1992, has been deployed at hundreds of sites across all major industries.

AutoSEA2 LT uses the same calculation engine and interface as AutoSEA2 but with a reduced set of functionalities that shorten the learning curve and simplify user navigation. AutoSEA2 LT has been specifically designed for engineers who need to perform quick studies without building complex and detailed models of their products. With AutoSEA2 LT, the predictive power of AutosEA2 is now available to a wider audience outside of the larger automotive and aerospace industries. Based on the Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) method, AutoSEA2 LT allows the engineer to study the propagation of vibrations in a structure and the resulting noise generation away from it or inside an enclosed volume of a room or enclosure. It is also extremely valuable for the calculation of airborne transmission loss (TL) of panels for material selection and construction design.

Comparison of noise level inside the enclosure, one surface acoustically treated vs. three surfaces treated.

Applications
Applications of AutoSEA2 LT include the design of sound enclosures, design of industrial machines and home appliances to mitigate noise at the source, study of airborne and noise transmission in buildings and much more.

Top "exploded" view of an enclosure showing corner nodes, panels (known in SEA as structural subsystems), acoustic space, line junctions adn point force excitation on side.

Example of design studies provided by AutoSEA2 LT for the enclosure model shown above include:

Stiffening of panels using ribs or composite constructions to reduce vibrations
Implementing a double-wall system to reduce noise transmission
Adding damping material on the panels
Adding acoustic material on the panels (fiber-based and mass layers)
AutoSEA2 LT allows engineers t
Deepen their insight of the complex vibro-acoustic behavior of their product (interaction of vibrations in structure with acoustic waves in surrounding air)
Quickly evaluate the impact on noise and vibration of new design concepts
Set overall and component specifications
Carry out design trade-offs in real-time
Optimize design changes in a matter of minutes
Features & Benefits
Fast model building
AutosEA2 LT provides fast 3D modeling: structural and acoustic subsystems are created from a few nodes with coordinates being entered manually or copied from a spreadsheet. Moving nodes automatically resizes the model.

Subsystems are connected to allow for energy flow with the Autoconnect function, which creates point, line and area junctions at the click of a button.

Extensive database
AutoSEA2 LT's extensive "browser" database is easy to access, visualize and enrich with commercial or proprietary data (product characteristics, source measurements, test results, etc). Data is stored based on its type (material properties, damping spectrum, power spectrum, etc), which eliminates the risk of error.

Model management for real life
All model information is equally accessible through the 3D window and the browser window. To insure adequate visual feedback, junctions and power sources are rendered as objects in the 3D window. All subsystems, junctions or power sources provide full access to parameters for immediate verification and full editing.

Advanced computation engine
Based on AutoSEA2's unique capabilities in the modeling of complex physics, AutoSEA2 LT offers:

Singly-curved and doubly -curved shells, complex panel constructions (orthotropic materials, composites, honeycomb cores, ribs)

Equations to describe the physics of wave transmission at junctions (angle-dependant, multi-wave)
Accurate modeling of the physics of fiber-based acoustic materials and of their impact on sound absorption and transmission as well as on structural damping
6-dof mechanical excitation and acoustic leads
Detailed results and analysis
AutoSEA2 LT provides a wide array of graphing solutions in order to diagnose product performance by visualizing results and evaluate design modifications. Graph types include wavenumber, modes in band, modal overlap, damping, radiation efficiency, energy, sound pressure level and vibration level, transmission loss, power input and power loss. In addition, results can be visualized on the 3D model itself through a thermogram and energy flow diagrams.

Energy levels and power flows for an enclosure
