•        Product engineer(s) for passenger vehicle turbocharger product qualification and development and support the design, prototyping, testing and qualification of turbocharger products and technologies necessary to support internal and external customers engine boosting programs, per Garrett , QS9000 and ISO/TS 16949 requirements.

Responsibilities of the position:
The product engineers in Shanghai are to support the WW PV 2 stage platform by fully taking the development responsibility at SGTS. They will directly report to Asia PE manager but also functionally report to the two stage platform to make sure that the projects can be executed to meet the G&O. The product engineers will fully utilize the SGTS engineering service resource and core technology resource for the key components designs and qualifications. They will also provide product engineering support to the two stage programs in Asia. They will be able to apply Design For Six Sigma processes and tools to drive product development in the most efficient way to reach robust designs and find solutions to resolve product issues at the customer, in the shortest lead times and at the lowest cost.

Qualification:
•        Minimum 2 years experience, preferably in mechanical engineering, internal combustion engine and/or turbo machinery.  
•        BS in Engineering or Master of Engineering.
•        Good at English in speaking, reading, writing and listening. Test scores preferred (Band 6 or TOEFL550 or TOEIC730).
•        Experience in automotive engineering or turbocharger experience would be an advantage.
•        Engineering materials knowledge or experience would also be useful.
•        Rotordynamic knowledge would also be an advantage.
•        Extensive training can be provided in certain areas, where necessary.

Skills:
•        Excellent PC skill (MS-Word, Excel, and other standard software of MS-Office)
•        Good technical knowledge of turbochargers, IC engines or automotive manufacturing would be extremely advantageous.
•        Good working knowledge of engineering materials, properties and operating limits.
•        Engineering experimental skills including test plan, execution, data analysis, documentation and reporting.
•        Ability to plan and execute project work within a defined framework.
•        Hands-on person with affinity for hardware as well as good mechanical design skills.

Key Success Factors:
•        A quick learner to absorb latest turbocharger technologies from internal and external materials in English.
•        Demonstrate strong teamwork skills, as well as the ability to co-ordinate with other groups such as design, production, purchasing, quality, methods and test facilities. Good communicator to present his or her own idea and listen to others.
•        Demonstrate a working understanding of the Product Excellence Process and Design For Six Sigma tools
•        Sound technical judgment to be able to request design work, review drawings and participate in failure mode analysis, effects and criticality.
•        Demanding of growth in special engineering field and challenge spirit of difficult tasks. Self motivated with a drive for excellence and able to take responsibility for project goals
•        Provide regular updates on projects and complete reports and other supporting documentation.
